Term 2, Week 3

Tech-arts

this week we started music for tech-arts so far we've learnt 2 small tunes on the guitar, we've learnt a few pieces on the keyboard ,and we've learnt about Irish music the timing and how it  has a lot of syncopation. Syncopation is when there's a normal 4 beat bar and the notes are in between the beats.

Maths

This week in math we started decimals and fractions I revised ordering decimals ascending and descending, for example:


0.4,0.1,0.9,0.009

0.009,0.1,0.4,0.9, ascending order

Science fair

this week I found my log book after I lost it and listed the variables and did some research about what could slow or speed en up the time it takes to melt an ice cube so far I haven't found anything.

At home I discovered another way to cook chicken I boiled it and it was nice and tender, but don't leave it to long or it will become very watery, but if you don't leave it long enough it will be under cooked.

Band camp

this Wednesday and Thursday we had band camp where we practiced for the first concert of the year we had a lot of fun and a great concert, but went home very tired well, I know I did. 

week 2 term 2

Tech

I tech arts this week we made sherbet, we used a lot of citric acid, food colouring,backing soda, and icing sugar. It reacts to liquid and fizzes up and releases a very sour taste. We made bath bombs that also react when that touch a liquid you put them in a bath and it makes bubbles and a coconut smell.

Lacrosse

In lacrosse we learnt how to throw and catch a ball with a pole with a net on the end of it, there is a lot of 

technique involved especially in long distance throws and catches. We also learnt how to do some tricks like pop the ball up under your leg and catch it or throw it up and catch it on the back of the lacrosse stick, it took me a while to learn both of those where others fond it very easy.

Maths

this week in maths we had a geometry test I think I did reasonably well but I could've done better, but I am all caught up now so I hope I don't fall behind again. I will try not to daydream and go off task.

Term 2 week 1

Tech

This week in tech arts we were learning about the pH-scale acids bases and neutrals. we evaporated salt water with two side arm flask's a hot plate (a heated surface) and a tube one flask was on a non heated surface and one was on the hot plate the flask on the hot plate contained food colouring and the salt water. We turned the hot plate to max and the water started to evaporate and the steam travelled into the tube and condensed and slowly dripped into the other flask when the process was complete the flask on the hot plate was filled with salt while the other was filled with approximately 100 ml of drinkable water.

Science Fair 

this week we started thinking about science fair honestly I don't have very many ideas and most are unprovable or un-do-able so I REALLY need to think.

Band

this week in band I forgot my strap for my saxophone TWICE! not very smart of me was it hehe.

Week 1, Term 1

I'm a Year 8

This is my second year at intermediate so I'm a year 8. So far this year has been kind of boring but we have a test today so yeah. The year 7's this year are really smart and on task most of the time.


Band

My saxophone is NOT PLAYING PROPERLY! :C . I'm really worried it won't play properly for band night :C :C :C .
