Last Week, Term 2

Last Week of Term

This week seems It's the last of the term not much has been going on for me other people have been going of things for sport and I was sick so I couldn't play in the band concert. I am excited that the holidays are right around the corner.

Tech arts

In tech I'm making a box and a sign that lights up it doesn't sound like much but it's pretty fun. I have finished art for tech arts and after wood work I'm doing sewing not sure what we are doing in it but apparently we get to make a pencil case.

Writing and Maths

For writing I have finished everything and somehow I'm up to date. I have finished my report writing and my S.L.C ( student led conference). In my maths I'm also up to date I've just finished the work on tree diagrams and probability and now on the last day of school for this term I have no work to do except this blog post.

Gym sport day

Two days ago my school hosted gym sport day I didn't compete in it but some of my friends did one of them beat the other by 0.3 points and got 4th place. That's about all I know about it anyway except I got to watch the cheer leaders do there dances.

French

In French I have been learning about places in France and the language it's really easy once you start and it's kind of fun as well.

1st Week Term 2

This week is the first week of term two we've been doing a lot of stuff all together including tech arts, sports, writing character description and today we've got summer games I'm doing non stop cricket for Puniu. This morning we had Anzac service where we heard poems, speeches and letters some of which were not from the war


Tech Arts

This week in Tech Arts I began to make a clay sandal for decoration obviously I coloured it a goldish yellow colour today I'll hopefully finish it. I've also started a sketch representing me I'm only on the draft at the moment the finished product is supposed to look like a Kiwi with a Poppy in it's beak it's going to be kind of big because it's on an A1 size piece of paper.


Maths

In maths I'm working on decimals I'm almost finished I just have to finish my learning Reflection. I do enjoy maths it's my favourite subject but sometimes I don't do that well.

Maths

This week in maths I learned how to add, subtract, multiply and divide integers
eg:


1. -7+-9= -16
       
2.   6- -8= 14

3. -4/-2= 2  

4.  6*-5= -30


Camp Wellington

Last week when I went to Wellington we did a lot of stuff and I enjoyed all of it.  On the first day Sunday It was a long drive seven and a half hours down to Wellington I was extremely tired we had a great dinner and desert. The next day we got up at seven had breakfast and then made our lunch ( it was like this every day except Friday ). The things we did throughout the week were snorkeling we saw things like a snake fish witch is a starfish with long thin arms we also saw a drifting anemone witch is an anemone that has the ability to drift with the current and hold on to things like seaweed. Another thing we did was go to the 
New Zealand national museum and saw lots and lots of things I can't even name them all one thing I personally liked was the colossal squid it was huge not to mention gross anyway we also went to the national library, holocaust museum, surf club museum ( where we went snorkeling ), the pools in Upper Hutt and the city and sea Wellington museum we also went to cater observatory and the beehive where we got to see Parliament in action

Writing

This week I also finished my Gallipoli writing and I personally think I did quite well with my piece.

Band

This week in band I lost my strap for my saxophone so I was really worried in the end it was found on the top of the shelf I ended up playing merry had a little lamb with ease. 

Wellington Trip

 

I'm kind of nervous about our camp in Wellington not only because I've never really stayed out of Te Awamutu  except for when I stayed in Kawhia. I' can't wait until we go to Wellington because we get to see the Beehive.

   

Week 6

Maths learning reflection
This week in maths I learnt how to use B.e.d.m.a.s witch was interesting to learn for example :


5-2*6/3=6
(5-2)*6/3=6

The top question Is what it looks like without B.e.d.m.a.s and the bottom one is what it looks like with B.e.d.m.a.s.



Tech arts:
This week in tech arts in music we had some tests 1 is the lowest you can get and it goes up to 3 we did keyboard, drums and guitar. I got 3 in keyboard and drums and a 2 or 3 in guitar I'm not quite sure. We also made a dance I think its pretty

Music lessons:
This week I had saxophone lessons and can play merry had a little lamb witch I'm really proud of.

Learning Reflection

In this section of maths I learnt how to find the LMC (lowest common factor) and HCM (highest common factor) for example: what is the highest common factor of 6 and 8

There for the highest common factor of 6 and 8 is 48.

This week at Te awamutu intermediate I trialled for the band and ended up doing the tenor saxophone
At 4:15 every Tuesday.  I'm almost finished my visual language I just have to glue the pictures on so it actually looks like something .  This week I also had a grammar test and I did pretty well I got into state nine seven.

My reflection

This week I reminded myself that face value is the number that you see ,place value is the place the numbers in and value is the face value times by the place value.  I also did a basic facts test unluckily I got two wrong.  I also marked a test well I wouldn't quite say marked more like a self assessment
than marking it.  We've also been doing visual art but I'm not finished I still have to add the photos.
I've been bringing my device to school every day for school work.  Apparently we need read and write but it doesn't work on surface rt witch is really annoying but I'll have to get it some how.        
That's about all we've done this week really.
